The 200 and 400-Mile Clubs

Training goals. Participation. Time in the seat. Equipment purchase justification. Sponsorship. Personal satisfaction. Competition. Enjoyment. In its fifth year, the 200 – Mile Club has achieved its goal of recognizing paddlers who commit themselves to training and traveling across New York State to participate in and finish more than 200 miles of canoe and kayak races on New York waters. The number of paddlers has consistently grown (more that a dozen new members in 2005) and some are saying 200 miles is just not enough! In response to growing demand, MAC’S will offer two challenges for 2006 – the 200 and the 400 Mile Clubs!!

A few simple rules: 1) All races are from a single paddling season. 2) At least 200 miles must be from New York State Races. 3) You must finish the race for it to count. 4) You must fill out an application and submit it by October 1, 2006 to be eligible.

MAC’S 200 and 400 Mile Clubs are participation awards open to all paddlers. The Club is sponsored by MAC’S Canoe Livery in Lake Clear, NYMCRA, Wenonah Canoes and Duofold T- Shirts. Sponsorship information, questions or suggestions should be directed to Brian McDonnell at 518 891 2744.
